I agree with you only so far - memory is a famously unreliable thing - but there are certain things that are branded on my mind, and then also the entire year of 1980, 7-8 shows from which I remember only one Scarlet-Fire from Portland ME in the spring. (They played Comes A Time the night before in Hartford, perhaps the only time I ever saw it. Do I remember that? No, I don't.)

I saw like ten shows on this spring 82 tour, and the two nights in Hartford are the only ones I really remember. Of course, we also had tapes of these shows within a few weeks, so perhaps these memories never had a chance to fade. Ditto Fall '82 - we had tapes of 09/17 Portland 09/20&21 MSG almost immediately, and played the hell out of them. I must have listened to them all at least dozens of times on tape in the 80's and 90's

I believe I was at both those Hartford shows.

In this hobbit town office park that is our native state,I wonder how far apart we grew up from each other. You would have been one of the older girls laughing in a small group at the boys or some girls dress ,while I was trying to figure out how to work the slide.Complete with nose juice running down my face and a diaper in need of attention. You didn't kick me off the little merry -go-round so you and your friends could sit down, did you?

btw-I punctuated properly.I think.I tried.I smiled.(... but smile,smile..)One day only special. How do you people do it like this?Everything is so scrunched up.

I grew up in Waterford. Next to New London. My parents still live there (and as you know I'm often there lately ...)

Yeah, I think I'm a few years older than you but I definitely didn't push you off the slide :)

LOL, I am really not still on your case about punctuation, but you know, it *does* look scrunched up that way because you have no space after the punctuation. See, I'm going to copy it with proper punctuation:

but smile, smile ...) One day only special. How do you people do it like this? Everything is so scrunched up.

Doesn't that look better? You have some weird thing about space - you want a *lot* of spaces. Which is funny because I frequently take double spaces out of people's documents, I rarely encounter someone who wants *fewer* spaces. (Us old folk who learned to type before word processors were taught to put in two spaces after a period, and many can't seem to break this habit. This is not a problem for you Micah ...)

I grew up in Higganum , south of Middletown . I worked at Seaside before the state shut it down , so I have been in your town often . Even lived in New London for a short time .... the Crystal Mall . My mom still lives in H. at the farm .
That drive up must get real taxing around Norwalk and be difficult to Lyme . I'm feel for you for what you go through , in both journey and destination .

Yeah , the example does look better the proper way . It's a small funny , my 'difficulty' , so I take no offense at all . It's kinda cool to have a real editor , even if but a sentence . I did write on a typewriter until 1993 . My Eng. & Lit. teachers in H.S. were old school and really good . Lucky .

Probably one of those six degrees of separation things ... we probably know people in common. My friend's mother was a director at Seaside. I volunteered there off and on but never worked there. I worked for (well, I've actually forgotten the name of the agency now) - anyway a group home for disabled adults in Branford (agency was based in Guilford) and a halfway house in Middletown (Gilead House). And I spent four years in Middletown (actually closer to five), then New Haven.

The drive, oh, by Norwalk the worst is past. It's going thru NYC that's stressful ... the peaceful little towns of the Connecticut shoreline are nuthin'!
